Introduction


There are 1269 computer systems in the college with 10 servers, 15 thinclients, 29 notebooks, 96 workstations and 1119 desktop PCs. The systems ranging from Pentium IV, AMD Athlon XP 64, AMD Athlon X2, Intel core 2 duo, Intel quad core Xeon, Intel Itanium 2 to the latest configurations are available. The different servers and workstations are HP rx2600 integrity server, HP Proliant ML 110, HP Proliant DL380, HP Proliant ML150 G3, SUN Fire V210, HP XW-4300, DELL Precision 370n.

Various Software’s like Windows 2003 server, Fedora core 4.0, Windows vista business, Windows 2000/ XP professional, Novell Netware 4.11/5.0, SUN Solaris 9.0, Macintosh 10.4, Adobe creative suite 2.0, Oracle 10g, IBM rational rose, are also installed and configured in the computers.


A computer lab with 15 Apple Macintosh systems with wireless communication through Airport base station is established for research in the fields of Multimedia technology, additionally a computer lab with 15 SUN ray 100 thin clients is established for research in the fields of JAVA technology.

Each department is provided with a separate computer laboratory and they are interconnected through optic fiber cable.
